Ukrainian post-punk Morwan announces fourth album, drops new single
The post-punk project has recently unveiled a new single — "Ne chekai" ("Don't Wait"). This personal track gives listeners a glimpse into the upcoming, climactic album.
Project founder Alex wrote the song on his own while working on the album "Vse po kolu, znovu" ("Everything in Circles, Again"). It revealed quite a different side of the material and took on a distinct character compared to most tracks on the LP:
"I decided to give this song special attention and open the album with it, because it’s the most personal and emotional one for me. It stands apart from the rest of the record both in depth and in overall sound. To me, it’s about how a person can sink too deeply into their suffering and, in doing so, make others suffer as well," Alex shared with Neformat.
According to him, the track came about surprisingly quickly and spontaneously, whereas the work on the upcoming LP stretched across years.
Morwan’s fourth studio album will be released on October 17 via the American label Feel It Records. The artist notes it will serve as the culmination of the project’s years-long creative search.
Morwan is a Kyiv-based art-punk/post-punk project founded by musician Alex Ashtaui in 2019. Its discography includes three full-length albums and several singles.
